Director, Business Development (ESG) – United States

Job Summary:

As the Director of Business Development (ESG) for our company, you will be responsible for driving sales of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) services, and developing business opportunities to grow our market share in the US. You will work closely with our leadership team, offshore research team and marketing team to ensure that our ESG offerings are well-positioned and aligned with the needs of the US market.


  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to drive revenue growth in the US market for our ESG offerings
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including partnerships and alliances, to expand our market share and reach
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and partners, as well as identify and establish relationships with new prospects
  • Develop a deep understanding of the US market and customer needs to ensure that our services are well-positioned and competitive
  • Collaborate with our offshore research team to provide customer feedback and insights, and help guide the development of new ESG services
  • Work with our marketing team to create and execute marketing campaigns and events to promote our ESG offerings to customers and prospects
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management, and participate in sales and business development meetings and reviews
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to ensure that we are continuously improving our ESG offerings and market position


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of sales and business development experience in the ESG industry, with a strong network and track record of success in the US market
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of ESG principles, standards, and evolving ESG market themes including regulation and standards
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to build and motivate a high-performing sales team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of developing and implementing successful sales and business development strategies
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events and conferences
